Definitions Of Classifications

Normal Restoration

· Damage to simple, non-patterned background, or simple, non-patterned clothing

· Replacing a detailed background with a simple, studio type background

· Restoring the colors of a photo that has faded evenly (no blotching).

 

Complex Restoration

· Minor damage to face areas

· Stains or scratches covering a significant portion of the photograph, or extending into patterned clothing or background (unless background is being replaced with a simple, studio type)

· Blotched or unevenly faded areas, other than on a plain background.

Extreme Restoration

· Major damage covering most of the print

· Missing sections requiring reconstruction (other than a plain background)

· Regrouping or making a composite from more than one original.

Special Quote Restoration

• Some photographs are so severely damaged as to require a special quote from the airbrush artist.

 Colorization

• Restore faded color photographs

• Make a color photograph from a b&w

• Can be made to look like a painting or like a photograph.

Art Treatments

Any of these special effects can be added to our Archival B&W prints, or to Restored prints
 (Cannot be done on Standard B&W copy prints, or Electronic Copy prints.)
